Grade 10 Transition
Our Grade 10 students have been busy with working on their Transition Plans as they explore options for 2026 and beyond.
Students will attend the third transition morning on Wednesday in Week 5 as they finalise their transition plans. Grade 10 students across the state use the working document as they consider options for next year. Students access Transition Plans via Canvas and will be included in their reports at the end of the year.
Selecting courses for Year 11 has been a focus for enrolment at Launceston College and Newstead College with some students considering the VET offerings at other schools such as Agriculture at Exeter High, Community Services at Queechy High and Civil Construction here at Riverside High School.
While some are working towards an apprenticeship, they see the importance of understanding the pathways to achieve their goal and continuing to be lifelong learners.
Our transition mornings have been supported by colleagues from other schools, business, further education such as TasTAFE and University of Tasmania and the Northern Business and Employment Hub.
All students will be enrolling in their preferred destination in Term 4. Launceston College and Newstead College enrolments will take place on Wednesday, 12th November. We encourage families to attend. There will be more information about enrolment, including booking appointments in the lead up to enrolment day.
We will continue to support our students with their decision making and we are excited to help them with the next steps in their education.
