On Tuesday, 70 students from Years 9 and 10 and our Aspire group travelled to Newstead College to investigate employment opportunities and career pathways. 

Students spent time engaging with more than 40 exhibitors covering employment options such as Tas Police, Dentistry, Accounting, Real Estate, RFDS, Aviation and many more. Other exhibitors covered pathways such as AMC, UTAS, TAFE and apprenticeships.

For the Year 10 students this helped them work on Transition Plans to Year 11/12 and consider the future past Year 12.

A number of employers held workshops, and the nursing/healthcare workshop was particularly popular with students. Many students mentioned this was a great opportunity to see hands on what is involved in nursing career and are now considering this pathway.

Students stated that they gained awareness of careers they had not considered before, and this experience will shape the courses they choose for Years 11 & 12.
